Sore calf = no running
I woke Monday morning with a sore and stiff left calf. Consequently I haven't run all week as I think after a few solid weeks of training my calf is giving me a hint.
Its the calf I have injured before and I don't want to risk all the gains I have made in the past months since Williamstown. I will run again when its not sore at all. Its probably fine now but I think being overly cautious now is the right thing to do. A week off now will make little difference but a month or two off with a calf tear again really will.
Lessons to learn: Listen to body, stretch properly (particularly) after a hard run.
Next run: Hopefully Saturday - easy 16k

Sorry to hear about your calf but I'm sore (with such a sensible approach) you will be back and running at your best in no time at all. J
Bit of a Freudian slip from Jen there - I'm SURE it's not prophetic, and I'm SURE you will be OK with some rest. Take it easy
Yeap - i am still learning the stretching lesson too....
oh well...
Hi Wobbly - wondered where you'd been all week.
Sorry to hear about your calf but glad you're being sensible and taking it easy.
Good Luck!
Hard lessons to learn - I'm still learning them. Take care and hope you're back running pain-free soon.
I saw a 'calf' today, Wobbly, in a paddock where I walk my dogs & it was a very nice calf too, though I don't know to whom it belongs! Hope yours is coming along nicely also!
